How it works

From an iPhone scan to your brand's sizing rules.

HandMeasured is a working, patent-pending iPhone prototype. It turns a guided scan into the hand measurements a selected chart needs, then applies that chart's sizing rules. We're starting with sizing, with product-specific fit and bespoke gloves ahead.

The three steps

Capture. Measure. Match.

STEP_01

Capture

The customer follows a short guided scan with one palm facing the front TrueDepth camera on a supported iPhone. HandMeasured records depth and key anatomical landmarks.

Input · Depth + landmark capture
STEP_02

Measure

HandMeasured turns the scan into the measurements your selected chart calls for, then checks whether the scan is usable. Palm breadth, circumference, and finger measurements are still being tested.

Process · Brand-relevant measurements
STEP_03

Match

HandMeasured applies your measuring method, size chart, and boundary rules. It returns the best-supported size, flags a close call or an out-of-range hand, or asks for another scan.

Output · Brand-specific size guidance
Where we're starting

Sizing is the first use. The same technology can do more as the measurements prove out.

Why it's different

Simple for the customer. Built around your chart.

The first use is sizing: a guided scan connected to your existing chart and rules. As more measurements prove out, the same technology can support more detailed fit and bespoke development.

No added hardware

No kiosk, store fixture, or reference object for the customer to find.

Consistent capture

The customer follows the same short, guided scan each time.

Built around your rules

The prototype uses the measurements, chart, and boundary rules your brand selects.

Built to expand

Start with sizing. Add product-specific fit and bespoke uses only as the required measurements prove out.

Current focus

Sizing is the first product—not the whole vision.

Today's prototype supports a guided TrueDepth scan, measurement from anatomical landmarks, and the rules from a selected brand chart. That gives us a clear, testable starting point before we add more measurements and more detailed fit work.

  • Guided TrueDepth scan on supported iPhones
  • Landmark- and depth-based measurements
  • Your chart and boundary rules
  • Best-supported size, close call, out-of-range result, or retake
